Roy J Krontz
Roy J Krontz, 84, of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at his home. He was born April 23, 1931 in Sturgis, MI the son of James and Delilah (Young) Krontz. Roy graduated from Battle Creek Central High School, class of 1949. He celebrated 64 blissful years of marriage to Norma, married on April 15, 1951 in Battle Creek. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a Corporal. Roy worked as a general foreman in charge of maintenance at Clark Equipment Co. for 33 years before retiring in 1984. After retiring, Roy worked for R & N Enterprises as a contractor. He was a member of North Avenue Church of God for 41 years. Roy was very involved with his church home serving in many capacities. He was a member of the American Legion Post 298 and Clark Retirees. In his earlier years he liked to hunt and fish. Roy enjoyed vacationing in Florida during the winter and playing shuffleboard. His greatest joy was spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; son, Rodney (Cindy) Krontz; daughter-in-law, Charlene Krontz; brothers, Marvin (Sandra) Krontz and Gary (Joyce) Krontz; grandchildren, Shane Krontz, Heather (Joe) Hill, Jennifer (Mike) Mann, Amanda Krontz, and Brandon (Missy) Krontz; great grandchildren, Lauren Yingling, Jacob Yingling, Alexander Krontz, Peighton Hill, Teigan Hill, Addyson Mann, Jaden Clark, Jordyn Clark, Brooklynn Krontz, and Brayden Krontz; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Dwane and Randy Krontz; daughter-in-law, Sheryl Krontz; and brothers, Larry and Jerry Krontz.
Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00-8:00 PM at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 PM at the North Avenue Church of God with Pastor James Sparks officiating. Burial will be at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI. Memorial tributes may be made to North Avenue Church EAP Fund.
