Robert “Mike” M. VanVleet, age 42, of Battle Creek, died Tuesday July 14, 2015, at Bronson Battle Creek. Mike was born September 23, 1972 in Battle Creek to Harvey and Edith (Bryson) VanVleet. Mike attended Pennfield and had been employed by several area factories. He enjoyed sketching, carving, writing and spending time with his family. Mike is survived by his daughters, Michaela VanVleet, Lauren VanVleet, both of Battle Creek, sons, Robert M. VanVleet II, Christian VanVleet, and Gavin VanVleet all of Battle Creek, his father, Harvey VanVleet of Battle Creek, sisters, Teresa (Duane) Swift of Battle Creek, Crystal (Randy) Mercer, of Battle Creek, Priscilla Bush, of Florida, brothers, Harvey (Leslie) VanVleet III of Battle Creek and Robert (Stephanie) Bush of Montague, MI. Mike was preceded in death by his mother Edith, and a brother, Dennis VanVleet. The family will receive friends at a memorial gathering 2:00 PM Sunday (July 26, 2015) at American Legion Post #298, 228 N. 20th St. Arrangements are Bachman Hebble Funeral Service.
