Marilyn L. Lapham, age 83, of Battle Creek, died Saturday February 21, 2015 at her home. Marilyn was born August 11, 1931 in Kalamazoo, to John and Wilhelmina (Slager) Voss and was a 1949 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. Marilyn came to Battle Creek in 1973 following her marriage to Fred Lapham. She worked with her husband in their construction business, building homes in the Battle Creek area. Marilyn especially enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Sebring of Galesburg, Cari Frisbie of Allegan, Beth (Bob) Schmid of St. Simons Island, Georgia, and Jan Sebring of Battle Creek, a son, Steven Sebring of Otsego, step daughters, Robin (Ed) Bunsold of Ft. Wayne, Cindy (Norm) Nelson of Lapeer, MI, Tina (Roger) Keats, of Dripping Springs, Texas, a stepson , Chris (Deb) Lapham of LaOtto, Indiana, a niece, Julie (Jim) Genore, of Marquette, Michigan, 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and a sister in law, Carol Triestram, of Kalamazoo. Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Fred E. Lapham, a stepson, Bruce Lapham, a sister, Eleanor DeHaan, and a brother, Arthur Voss. A memorial gathering will be held 2:00 PM Friday February 27th, at The Banquet Hall at Baxter’s, 375 W. Dickman Rd. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the charity of one’s choice Arrangements are by Bachman Hebble Funeral Service.
