Maxine Ehrhardt (Erway)
Maxine Ehrhardt, 93, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015 at The Oaks at Northpointe Woods. She was born April 3, 1921 in Hastings, the daughter of Raymond and Francis (Otis) Erway. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1939 and continued her education at DeVry University. Maxine was a United States Navy Wave, serving in WWII. She married James Dibble who preceded her in death in WWII. Her second husband, Orville Ehrhardt, preceded her in death as well. She had worked as a teacher’s assistant at the Ann J. Kellogg School retiring in 1974. After her retirement she spent the rest of her life as a homemaker and wife. Maxine was a member of Redemption Lutheran Church. She enjoyed music, singing in the church choir, painting and art. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Steven L. Ehrhardt; granddaughter, Katherine Ehrhardt; and grandson, Kyle Ehrhardt all of Battle Creek.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, James and Orville; and sons, Richard and Val Ehrhardt.
Private graveside services will be held Thursday at 1:30 PM at the Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Chapel with Pastor Karl N. Strenge officiating.
