Obituary for
Mitchell John VanderWall
It is with our deepest sorrow, we share the passing of our dear Mitchell J. VanderWall, age 25, of Battle Creek, he died Saturday January 10, 2015 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Mitchell was born April 29, 1989 in Battle Creek to Scott and Shelly (Wygant) VanderWall. Mitchell was a 2008 graduate of Pennfield High School and continued his education at University of Northwestern Ohio, receiving his Associates Degree. Mitchell had been employed by the Kidder Heating and Air Conditioning Co., SPX (Union Pump) Co. and currently at Parker Hannifin in Otsego. Mitch had a passion for the outdoors even as a young child and that has continued throughout his life. He hunted and fished every chance possible with many friends and volunteered, through Freedom Hunts for Veterans, to guide disabled veterans on hunting trips at Fort Custer, so they could continue to enjoy the out of doors. When he wasn’t in the woods or on the water he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Mitch made long lasting relationships with everyone he met. He always made and entrance as he came into a room with a smile and a hug and a contagious energy.. He lived his life by example, having fun, being happy and having a positive attitude living life to the fullest. He had a heart of gold and was always ready to lend a hand to others. He had a very special way of making everyone he knew one big family of friends, nicknaming each and every one. Mitch is survived by his mother and step father, Shelly and Bob Bradstreet, his father and step mother, Scott and Denise VanderWall, brothers, Adam VanderWall, Ryan and Ian Stemplewski, Eric (Milady) Bradstreet, a sister, Emily (Justin) McDaniel. Grandparents, John and Janet Wygant, Mary VanderWall, Louise Bradstreet and Muriel Clark. Mitch is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and a niece, along with many others that were very dear to Mitch that he called family. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, 223 N. Bedford Rd. A celebration of life will be held 3:00 PM Friday at the Battle Creek Evangelical Friends Church, 1305 Olive St. Battle Creek.
