Obituary for Bill Ogletree

Bill Ogletree, age 80 of Battle Creek, died Wednesday August 27, 2014 at his home. Bill was born March 12, 1934 in Opelika, Alabama to Roy and Fannie (Washington) Ogletree and came to Battle Creek in 1941. Bill had been employed by the former DeNooyer Chevrolet for 15 years prior to working at the Kellogg Company for 28 years. Bill retired from Kelloggs in 1992. Bill was an avid baseball fan, he enjoyed playing poker, fishing, hunting, and listening to all kinds of music. He especially enjoyed spending time with his loving family. Bill is survived by his wife, the former Mary Olds, daughters, Veronica, Teresa, Diana, Kimberly, Dannita (Tony) and Monica, sons, Curtis, Derek (Cindi), Damon (Stacey), and Mark (Chaney) all from Battle Creek, a sister, Zola of Birmingham, Alabama, 24 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Johnnie, and a grandson Roy Shawn. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Wednesday, at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, 223 N. Bedford Rd.
