Michael Brendon Jacobus, 44, of Traverse City, MI and formerly of Battle Creek, MI died as a result of an all-terrain vehicle accident on Friday, July 19, 2013 while visiting family in Battle Creek.
He was born May 25, 1969 in Chicago, IL the son of James Jacobus and Rosetta (Armstrong) Jacobus.
He was a shipping manager at the Grand Traverse Machine for seven years in Traverse City, MI.
Mike had graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1988, and then attended Olivet College studying business. He came to Battle Creek, MI in 1976 from Allegan and moved to Traverse City in 2005.
He is survived by his fiancé: Pamela Bennett of Traverse City, MI; his three sons: Cadence L. James of Silverdale, WA; Kenny (Kesha) Decker of Battle Creek, MI; Douglas (Leeza) Decker of Washington state; three daughters: Cammra L. (Dylan M.) Nolff of Traverse City, MI; Jessica Mathis of Phoenix, AZ; Angel (Steven) Decker of Texas; two brothers: Ron Walker; Grant (Denell) Jacobus of Kalkaska, MI; four sisters: Brandi M. Jacobus of Battle Creek, MI; Melinda A. Gordon of Battle Creek, MI; Joy Jacobus of Elizabethtown, TN; Patty Vroman of Naples, FL; and his former wife - Tammy James of Traverse City, MI.
He enjoyed going fishing and boating on the lake, cooking, riding his motorcycle, playing music and every single free moment spending with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Laura Vroman in 2009.

Visitation will be held at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Wednesday July 24, 2013 where the family will be present from 5:00 until 8:30 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 3:00 PM in the Bachman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Scott Rogers from Victory Life Church officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home and cremation will be conducted. Memorial tributes may be made to: the American Diabetes Association.
