Donna Jean English, age 77 of Battle Creek, died Friday April 13, 2012 at the Laurels of Bedford. Donna was born November 11, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan . Donna had resided in Battle Creek for most of her adult life. She received her Bachelor’s degree in 1978 and her Master’s degree in social work in 1981 from Western Michigan University. Donna had worked as a nurse at the former Leila Hospital; she had also worked at the Kellogg Co. She retired as an Auditor for the IRS in 1995 while living in Louisville, KY She returned to Battle Creek that same year . Donna had attended the Macedonia Baptist Church. Donna is survived by her daughters, Valorie English of Battle Creek, and Cheryl English of Jackson, MI, a son Michael English of Grand Rapids, and a sister Beatrice Lipsey of St. Clair Shores, MI. Donna has many grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved her and will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allen English and a son Stanton English. Donna’s Legacy to her children and grandchildren are her strength, her courage and her love of God and family. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until Noon Friday at the Macedonia Baptist Church, 636 W. VanBuren St. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon Friday at the Church.
